- Rockefeller Champagne and Oyster Bar - oysters cooked or raw, fries with truffle aioli, or a selection of fish on a board... not quite the harbourfront on Fanshawe Street, but it could transport you there

- Alfonso's - second branch of this tapas restaurant has opened in Mount Eden, where the Two Fifteen Bistro and Wine Bar used to be
- Little and Friday - the latest branch of this baked goods empire was set up in Ponsonby in the space of a week, where the Good One cafe used to be
- Eat at the Shelter - new cafe at Ponsonby concept store The Shelter, while previous cafe and bike store Blend has moved to Eden Terrace
- Cakes and Ladders - board game cafe on Symonds Street, funded via Kickstarter
- The restaurant and cafe at Italia Square in Parnell are now called Basilico and Mario Cafe respectively
