Eating Asian

• Red Pig (빨간 돼지) - Korean BBQ restaurant at the top of Khartoum Place, opposite the Auckland Art Gallery
• V-Fuels - little Vietnamese eatery on Mayoral Drive with a simple menu but some interesting (and changing) specials
• Beijing Cuisine - another little place on Mayoral Drive, with cold dishes, Chinese pancakes and rice and noodle dishes
• Lucky Buddha - bar and eatery in Fort Street serving fusion food from the cuisines of China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines and possibly more
• Miss Saigon - Vietnamese eatery in Newmarket
• Nanam - Filipino flavours in Royal Oak, where Coco Restaurant and Wine Bar used to be

Tasting Turkish

• Deco Eatery - all day Mediterranean eatery in Titirangi, with the same Turkish owner as the Mozaik cafe chain and Nomad Restaurant
• Levant - Levantine cuisine at North Wharf, from the owners of Panscape

Bistro Meals

• United Kitchen - bistro in Ponsonby where Tin Soldier used to be, with an exposed kitchen, where head chef Tom Williamson can interact with diners
• Phil's Kitchen - bistro in Kingsland from a chef with prior experience at Sidart and Merediths
• Matterhorn - Auckland branch of this Wellington dining establishment, owned by Sean Marshall and Mark Keddall, where Libertine used to be in Freemans Bay

Coffee Fix

• Demolition Deli - specialty grocery store in Te Atatu, with daily cabinet food and coffee, as well as dry goods, local produce, and more 
• Good Day - cafe in Orakei from some ex-Dizengoff peeps (actually opened in February)

Sweet Treats

• Lalele's delicious organic gelatos and cocolatos are now available from their new store in Mairangi Bay (previously only available at markets)
• MS Dessert 蜜蘇浬蒸品閣 on Dominion Road sells Hong Kong style desserts as well as savoury food like congee, meat on rice, soups and snacks

Branching Out

• Bird on a Wire has opened a new branch in Takapuna (1 April)
• Burger Burger is now also in Newmarket, with the additions of fried chicken and a dessert bar
• Little Bird Unbakery is now also in Britomart, with takeaway offerings

Other

• Commonsense Organics has opened its first store in Auckland in Mount Eden (1 April)
• Restaurant Carinthia is under new management
• The Kitchen c/o SKYCITY is a new outcatering brand launched to showcase pop ups from Federal Street restaurants

Coming Soon

• Epolitos Pizzeria - this New York Pizza Joint has moved from somewhere near One Tree Hill to a shop in Grey Lynn. They just have to put in an extraction fan to get Building Code compliance.
• Ramen Takara is opening a Ponsonby branch (May)
• Jadan Supermarket - Asian supermarket opening near the Tai Ping on Dominion Road, Mount Roskill (April)
